Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions to help you learn more about working with Dover Catering and how we can make your event seamless and stress-free.

BBQ Package Minimums

For our BBQ packages, the Traditional and Presidential menus require a 100-person minimum, while the Original and All-American menus are available with a minimum of 50 guests.

Deposit/Payment Schedule

A 50% deposit is required upon signing to secure your event date. The remaining balance is due 10 business days prior to the event. We accept payments by check, cash, or credit card (please note a 4% processing fee applies to credit card transactions). Final payments should be made by credit card or certified bank check. Checks may be made payable to “Dover.”

Water Slides

For the safety of all guests, we are unable to accommodate water slides or water-based inflatable activities at our events.

Cancellation Policy

If your event is canceled due to inclement weather, your deposit will be held as a credit and can be applied toward a rescheduled event at a park facility where Dover Gourmet regularly provides service. To be eligible for this credit, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of your event.

If you cancel within the required 48-hour notice period, your 50% deposit will be retained and applied to the next available event date. However, if you fail to cancel within 48 hours, your deposit will be forfeited to cover food preparation and labor costs.

Failure to notify our office of your cancellation entirely will result in a forfeiture of 100% of all payments received.

Alcohol

We are fully licensed to serve alcohol at your event; however, please note that a park permit is required for alcohol service and must be obtained separately through the appropriate park authority.
